Committees

Our school is reliant on active committees led primarily by energetic and committed parents.  Governed by the Board of Directors, each committee is charged with specific annual tasks and is required to report their progress periodically.  The Board may decide to add or fold in a committee as the need arises. Presently there are five standing committees:

Accountability Committee

The Accountability Committee is an advisory committee charged with monitoring TPCA's fulfillment of its mission, goals, and objectives as stated in the TPCA charter. This committee is responsible for: (a) developing and adopting student performance goals and the school improvement plan; (b) developing and circulating parent questionnaires designed to assess parents' satisfaction with the operation of the school, the performance of the administration, and the performance of the Board of Directors; (c) assisting the TPCA Board of Directors and administration in the process of accreditation, educational audits, school assessments, and the like; (d) approving all waiver requests proposed by the Board of Directors regarding applicable statutes or regulations; (e) monitoring discipline and dress code concerns and developing policy recommendations to address these issues. The Committee communicates its findings annually via written report to the TPCA Board of Directors, to the District, and makes said report available to the community. Recommendations are forwarded to the Board for review and action.

Curriculum Committee

The Curriculum Committee systematically reviews TPCA's curriculum. The Committee also researches and recommends instructional resources, instructional materials, and media and computer programs to be used. The Curriculum Committee forwards such recommendations to the Board of Directors for review and action.

Faculty Committee

The Faculty Committee will assist the Principal in gathering parent feedback on teacher performance. The parent feedback shall be collected only by the Principal, used as part of the Principal's review of the classroom performance of all teachers, summarized for the Board, and may be used as a factor in performance-based bonuses and/or contract renewal considerations. The Faculty Committee is also responsible for assisting the Board and Principal in the process of interviewing candidates for administrative and instructional positions at the school.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee monitors the financial concerns of the school and reports its findings and recommendations to the Board of Directors for review and action. The Bookkeeper reports to the Board through the Finance Committee. The Committee reviews and forwards financial statements to the Board. Changes to the budget and/or other policies that have a financial impact on the school are brought before this Committee for review.

Marketing/Development Committee

The Marketing Committee works with the Board of Directors and administration to develop school marketing materials and the school website. The Committee reports recommended actions, costs, and associated timelines to the TPCA Board for review and action.
