Members are Elected by the Parents and Serve Two Year Terms
The Twin Peaks Charter Academy Board of Directors is main entity accountable for governance, fiscal oversight, strategic planning, and other responsibilities at our school. The seven members are elected by parents during third quarter conferences in accordance with the school’s by-laws. Members serve two year terms to ensure continuity of experience and leadership.
Our volunteer board reviews and sets policy to support and maintain the school’s mission, goals, and objectives as defined in our charter. Further, it works with parent-led committees to evaluate student assessments, budgets, enrollment, the curriculum, and personnel.
Our board welcomes participation and communication from the school community. One of the easiest ways to get involved is to work with one of our four standing committees: Accountability, Community Development, Finance, and Government. Additionally, time is set aside at the beginning of every board meeting for members of the community to address the board. Speakers will be asked to limit their comments to two minutes.
The board meets twice per month. Agendas, including times and locations, are posted at the entrances to the school and sent via email communication. These meetings are open to the public, and we welcome community member attendance and observation.
