Response to Annual Surveys

Lynn Ingegneri - Wednesday, May 27, 2015

Recently, TPCA sent out annual surveys to parents, students, and teachers. Thank you for your thoughtful responses. The information from the surveys, along with other internal measures, will help the board and staff define priorities for next year. The surveys included some positive, affirming responses and some great ideas for improvement. Some concerns and misperceptions were also noted. On behalf of the board of directors and administration, the accountability committee would like to address some of the concerns and misperceptions to ensure members of the TPCA community have accurate information.

Boys' Lacrosse Coming to TPCA

Lynn Ingegneri - Tuesday, April 14, 2015

Our lacrosse expansion was featured in the Times Call. Here is an excerpt:

Starting in spring of 2016, Twin Peaks Charter Academy expects to offer the St. Vrain its first lacrosse programs and facilities for prep athletes.

"It's a fantastic opportunity," said Kathy DeMatteo, president of the board of directors at Twin Peaks. "We've known for a while that there is a great population of St. Vrain Valley students who have been looking to play lacrosse within the district. We've got a couple of club teams that practice inside at the school in the winter time right now and we're hoping to have good participation numbers right away."

Twin Peaks is also building a regulation lacrosse field to support its new programs. The field is scheduled to be completed in May.

Successes and Celebrations Third Quarter

Lynn Ingegneri - Monday, March 09, 2015

Dear Twin Peaks Charter Families,

Thank you TPCA parents and community, we’ve come a long way in 18 years! TPCA was created by parents who were passionate about offering families a quality choice in education. As a result of their vision and the continued involvement of families today, our students have a unique educational opportunity that prepares them for college and successful lives. As we complete our third quarter in the 2014–15 school year, I’d like to share some of our successes and celebrations.

Message from Doug Bean

Lynn Ingegneri - Friday, September 12, 2014

I am very excited to be the Dean of Students at Twin Peaks. This is a great school with a strong tradition of excellence both in and out of the classroom. I am looking forward to helping our students continue to grow and apply the Six Pillars of Character (Responsibility, Respect, Citizenship, Fairness, Trustworthiness, and Caring) to all areas of their lives. Most importantly, I want to inspire them—as they say Monday mornings in the Six Pillars Pledge—to be the best that they can be.

I also get to work with Facilities. We are making great improvements to the school to enhance the educational process by finishing out the East Campus second level classrooms as well as adding athletic fields on our north side and updating the existing facility’s security. We are in an incredible place right now at Twin Peaks; it is a great time to be a Timberwolf!

Many thanks to everyone who is currently working on this incredible project, and to everyone who helped make Friday's ceremony a historical event. Go Timberwolves!

Twin Peaks Campus Expansion

Lynn Ingegneri - Wednesday, September 03, 2014

It's exciting to see our north campus expansion begin! The board began exploration of the possibility of becoming a K–12 school in 2005. The district informed us that we would need to vacate the Main Street location in June 2005. We opened our current campus in 2008. We expanded the middle school and opened the high school in 2011. The current construction and financing plans were formulated over the last year and will once again be performed by GTC Construction.

Friday's groundbreaking ceremony marks the addition of a regulation track, two athletic fields, as well as eleven additional classrooms and an ancillary science and computer lab. The additional athletic facilities will provide more outdoor physical education space for the school. An additional four acres will become the future baseball/softball field. This project brings us one step closer to completion of the campus master plan to accommodate 1,450 students in 160,000 square feet of finished space on 27 acres of land. The funds for this phase have been secured. In addition, refinancing of the 2008 bonds has resulted in a $1 million savings to our school.

We anticipate the internal construction to be complete by mid-November, which includes the addition of restricted access safety doors at both east and west campus lobbies. The practice field, main field, and track infrastructure should be complete in early December. The installation of the track surface will occur in March.

If you have further questions, please contact Pete Wanninger.

Welcome from the Board President

Lynn Ingegneri - Wednesday, August 27, 2014

Parents, Students, and Staff:

Welcome back to Twin Peaks Charter Academy for the 2014–2015 school year.

The summer was a busy time for your administration, staff, and board of directors. You may notice some changes and improvements as you begin the year, and we are excited to share them with you.

We welcome new administrative leadership, staff, and teachers to our community and wish them great success in their new roles. Please introduce yourselves and help support and encourage all of our wonderful staff.

Our campus continues to improve this year as we complete our classroom facilities and construct a state-of-the-art athletic field and training area for our students. We hope to engage many of you in the final details of this project. Watch our newsletters, as well as student folders, for opportunities in which to be involved, or contact our volunteer coordinator Beverly Weinberg or the board directly.

The board participated in leadership training and an all-day retreat to focus our efforts on school improvement, growth, and excellence. We remain dedicated to the mission of Twin Peaks, and seek your support and input as we face many challenges this year.

On behalf of the board, I challenge each of you to make this school your own. Twin Peaks is unique because of the gifts each family brings in support of their student. Opportunities exist in all areas of the organization; reach out and engage where you can, when you can. We all bring something to the table that makes our school a great place for students.

Thank you for allowing me to represent you on the board of directors, and please reach out to me as you go through the year. I welcome your input and look forward to knowing you.
