History & Mission

History

The longest continuously operating school in the St. Vrain district, TPCA was established in the fall of 1997 by a group of dedicated parents who wanted a richer, more academically rigorous educational opportunity for their children.

TPCA’s home until late 2009 was the Main Street School, a historically significant building that housed the original Longmont High School and, which, served as a school on and off since the 1920s. The iconic site helped establish TPCA as the premier charter school in Longmont and surrounding areas.

The 80,000ft2 facility contains a wealth of amenities including ample room for grades K-8, exceptionally well-equipped art and music rooms, state-of-the-art science and computer labs and abundant library/media resources. The beautiful new gymnasium, auditorium and common areas perfectly complement the academic facilities and enhance the entire education experience.

Mission

Twin Peaks Charter Academy provides students with the foundations of character, building cultural literacy through a rigorous, content-rich curriculum in an encouraging environment run by dedicated and trained staff that understands how to help children succeed. We believe that a “whole” education includes strong academics along with abundant opportunities for expression in the arts, music and sports.
