Words Their Way is the adopted spelling program for 5th grade. Assessment at the first of the year dictates what level students are placed. Most students fall in Syllables and Affixes or Derivational.
Baseline testing Writing for a variety of purposes are the state standards and as such we cover various forms of writing throughout the year. Months are not assigned. Grammar is dealt with throughout all writing but the listed grammar is associated with the Rigby program.
