Our society is becoming unhealthier every year. Many occupations and pastimes are becoming more technology oriented and less physical. Our eating habits are often dismal. As a result obesity, heart disease, diabetes and other illnesses are on the rise. Your child’s Physical Education classes are the front line defense against these unhealthy trends. Participation in Physical Education has also been shown to improve performance in other subject areas as well.
For Elementary the objectives are:
1. Demonstrate proficiency in locomotor and manipulative skills.
2. Show understanding of movement concept skills.
3. Develop specialized motor skills.
4. Demonstrate basic understanding of health-related wellness concepts.
5. Show care and respect for others during class activities.
Middle School Objectives are:
1. Exhibit basic skills and understanding of various team sports.
2. Employ reading, writing and research skills while preparing written assignments.
3. Demonstrate understanding of what it takes to lead a healthful life.
4. Demonstrate care and respect for others during class activities.
