The Rigby Theme Units incorporate poetry throughout most of their themes.  We further deal with poetry though out CK content.

Tom Sawyer - read aloud
A Midsummer Night's Dream is taught in music whenever the class has that special. 
Myths and Legends, Tall Tales and an excerpt from Little House on the Priarie  are worked into our Native American Unit and westward expansion unit.
Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass fits into our Civil War unit.
Don Quixote - read aloud
Sherlock Holmes - read aloud Secret Garden - either listened to on tape or show the video.
Listed are our sayings and phrases that are CK Literature requirements.  Months are not assigned as they are incorporated throughout the year whenever possible. Phrases:

Words Their Way is the adopted spelling program for 5th grade.  Assessment at the first of the year dictates what level students are placed.  Most students fall in Syllables and Affixes or Derivational.
Baseline testing
Writing for a variety of purposes are the state standards and as such we cover various forms of writing throughout the year.  Months are not assigned.
Grammar is dealt with throughout all writing but the listed grammar is associated with the Rigby program. 
Paragraph writing
