How do I report my child's Absence or Tardy?

All absences or tardies need to be communicated to the Front Office. Although you are welcome to contact the teacher, this is not necessary and does not ensure that the Attendance Clerk has a record of your child's absence. Determination of whether an absence or tardy is excused or unexcused is based upon the reason for the absence or tardy, per TPCA policy.

How do I get homework for my absent student?

Homework will be collected at the parent's request on the third day a student is absent. We ask that it be brought to the Office by 2:30PM, but please call before you make a trip into the school.

How do I notify the school of a Pre-Arranged Absence?

If you know your child will be absent for one or more full school days, please fill out a Pre-Arranged Absence Form and turn it in to the Attendance Clerk at least one week before the absence. After verification by Mic Finn, Dean of Students, forms for 3 or more days will be routed through your child's teacher(s) and then sent home with your student. Should I bring a note from the doctor or dentist when my child has an appointment and misses school?

Yes, it is a good idea to bring in a note when your child is absent or tardy due to an appointment. This is not required, but helpful.

What is Necessary When Returning to School Following Surgery or Extended Illnesses?

When your child is absent for a surgery or an extended illness, it is the protocol of our school district to request that you present a doctor's release when your child returns to school. This release should state that it is safe for the student to return to school. Any orders for follow up care that is to take place at school need to be received at that time also.
