The Board of Directors at Twin Peaks Charter Academy is made up of seven voting members, parents of children enrolled in the school and elected by parents of children enrolled in the school.  On occasion there can be an exception made to allow a board member from the local community at large as long they live within the St Vrain Valley school district.  Also, the board may ask for up two other non voting members sit in on the board.  All members must agree to a background check and sign a code of conduct agreement.  
 
The Board of Directors meets every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month in the school and if necessary they will meet on the other 2nd and 4th Wednesdays for a work or special sessions.  Board meetings are open to the public with the usual start time is 7 o’clock for regular session. The agenda is posted on this website and in the school’s lobby 24 hours prior to the meeting. If you call, you can ask Carroll Dragon to send an agenda over to you.  
 
The of the BOD has a number of tasks including enforcing policy, develop a budget, set up committees, approve a calendar, seeing that records are properly kept, make sure the facility is maintained, have open meeting, develop a grievance procedure and approve an admissions policy.  Recently it has been very concerned with finding a new facility and successfully moving to the new home.   
 
If you are interested in your child’s education or maybe you feel that you would like to serve the Twin Peaks community at this level, the board encourages you to attend a meeting or two and even make you voice heard.
