Twin Peaks Classical Academy uses a curriculum founded in the classics to build on the Classical Education stages of Grammar (Elementary), Logic (Middle School) and Rhetoric (High School). This award-winning curriculum emphasizes the four core disciplines of math, science, literature and history, along with music, art, PE and foreign languages (including Latin). Sequenced learning follows a spiraling structure that encourages examination of subjects in deepening ways throughout the K-12 educational experience. The result is a rich understanding of topics and cross-curriculum connections.
It’s Grounded in Books
Twin Peak’s study of liberal arts and sciences is grounded in the great works of literature, philosophy and history. From Treasure Island to Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet to Aristotle, the books in our curriculum are carefully picked to inspire and inform learners of all ages.
It’s Research Based
Our K-12 curriculum is thoughtfully designed and based on best practices. We teach Literacy Essentials to our grades K-3, which is a comprehensive literacy program that is rooted in the award-winning Orton-based system of linguistic decoding. Middle and high school curriculum includes Latin, AP classes, rigorous final projects and a Senior Thesis for all graduates.
It’s Not Just Academics
Twin Peaks’ Classical Education curriculum also supports the moral formation of our students. We integrate the Six Pillars of Character into all classroom lessons. This includes daily discussions around Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship. The Pillars are an essential component of our positive school climate, and families are encouraged to support these character lessons at home.
