We’re thrilled to welcome our new Dean, Julie Ahrens, to the team!
Julie is no stranger to Twin Peaks, she has been a valued member of our staff for the past 8 years. Her enthusiasm and passion for teaching are exactly what we were looking for in this role.
We can’t wait to see the impact she will make on our team and students!
Congratulations, Julie, and welcome to the Leadership Team!

How many middle school students can we fit on one piece of playground equipment? Turns out it's more than we thought!

Congratulations to Ms. Burns!
We have reached Ms. Burns’ one-year mark as our Executive Director. On day one of her leadership last April, Ms. Burns arrived at school to discover a flooded classroom due to a leak in the roof. She jumped right in and led both staff and students through quick adjustments to keep everyone safe and prevent any disruption to learning.
Since that day, the year has given Ms. Burns ample challenges; inevitable staffing transitions, all-digital CMAS testing, a midday controlled-release, and ongoing facilities improvements. And of course, there are all the daily responsibilities of leading a complex and growing school community. We have watched Ms. Burns handle both the expected and unexpected with thoughtful diligence and careful decision-making.
We’ve had many successes to celebrate this year under the guidance of Ms. Burns; establishment of a clear and unified vision for staff and teachers, sustainable growth to enrollment of nearly 4%, salary increases for our teachers to keep us one of the highest paying charter schools and competitive in the district, strong academic performance, positive updates to curriculum, a robust and growing arts/sports/activities program, increased visibility for our school including over a dozen community outreach events and a feature in School CEO magazine, responsible budget management, improvements to staffing structure, grant approvals. The list goes on.
As your Board of Directors, we have watched Ms. Burns lead her team collaboratively and with integrity this past year, consistently keeping the school’s Vision and our Governance Policies as her guiding principles. That dedication to our founding ideals protects our future and will continue to position us as a school that is sought out for our commitment to Truth, Goodness, and Beauty.
The Board of Directors would like to thank and congratulate Ms. Burns on an outstanding first year as our Executive Director!

For some families, the idea that we do not use one-to-one devices is surprising. How do we manage? Our students read physical books and write with pencils on paper! Not only is it still possible to teach with low amounts of technology, but research continues to emerge indicating the potential harm of technology-heavy instruction on educational outcomes. We invite you to experience our classrooms firsthand; sign up for a tour today!
